What's New in the Blue Zones Meal Planner
In Okinawa, Sardinia, Nicoya, Ikaria, and Loma Linda, the people who live the longest, healthiest lives aren't following complicated diets — they're eating plant-slant recipes, cooking simply, and eating in community with the people they love. That's the whole philosophy behind the Blue Zones Meal Planner, and it's what guided this round of updates.
Our #1 goal is to make the blue zones way of eating as easy as possible in every home. We’ve made some thoughtful changes that remove friction from cooking, so the healthy choice stays the easy one. Here's a look at what's new:
In the kitchen
We rebuilt the mobile cooking experience for easier reading and following along, added a button to keep your screen awake throughout your prep and cook time, and made favoriting as simple as tapping a heart — automatically saving your go-to recipes for next time.
In search
Search got a refresh too! Now you can find recipes by key nutrients like protein and fiber, or ingredients with iron and omega-3s — the building blocks of plant slant recipes. New search terms also make it easy to find quick (30-minutes-or-less) meals and one-pot or one-pan recipes — the kind of low-effort, high-nourishment cooking that's kept people in the blue zones eating well for generations. You’ll also be able to filter recipes better!
Longevity isn't built on dramatic overhauls — it's built on everyday choices: eating nourishing recipes, cooking at home, gathering your Moai (the people you share meals and life with) around the table. We hope these updates make your time in the kitchen, and at the table with your people, just a little bit better.
